Slender Club
Latin name: Macrotyphula juncea
Slender Club is a tall, spindly, extremely thin, thread-like club fungus measuring no more than 1mm thick. It usually has unbranched tips, which are pointed at first but become blunter and are often bent or wavy. Ochre or creamy brown in colour with a slightly darker base.
They can be found in Autumn, in leaf litter, woody debris and fallen twigs, in damp, deciduous woodland, sometimes covering a large area.
Widespread and common in Britain.
