Pink-Footed Goose

Pink-Footed Goose

Latin name: Anser brachyrhynchus

The Pink-footed Goose is a winter visitor to Britain. Around 360,000 individuals arrive in Britain to feed on our wetland and farmland habitats, eating grain, winter cereals, potatoes and grass.

The Pink-footed Goose is a small, grey goose, with a relatively short neck, short pink bill, pink legs and feet.

It flies from Greenland and Iceland in October to spend the winter in Britain, before returning north in April.

Most easily seen in Scotland, North West England and East Anglia.
