Metatropis rufescens
Latin name: Metatropis rufescens
Metatropis rufescens is a large and umistakeable orange-brown stiltbug. It is a woodland species, feeding on the leaves of Enchanter’s Nightshade, Circaea lutetiana.
They are found throughout much of southern Britain including Wales all year round. Metatropis rufescens overwinter as an adult and then mate in the early summer, with the new generation complete by August.
