Baxterley is a village located in the North Warwickshire district of Warwickshire, England. It is situated about 4 miles northeast of Atherstone and has a population of around 500 people.

History

The name Baxterley is derived from the Old English words bæcce and ley, which means baker’s clearing. The village dates back to the Anglo-Saxon period and is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086.

During the 19th century, Baxterley was a centre for the ribbon weaving industry. Many of the village’s buildings date back to this period, including the Methodist Chapel, which was built in 1841.
