Rochdale is a large town in Greater Manchester, England. It lies in a wide valley at the foothills of the South Pennines on the River Roch.

Rochdale rose to prominence in the 19th century as a mill town and centre for textile manufacture during the Industrial Revolution.

Rochdale’s Town Hall, a Grade I listed building dating from 1871, is one of the finest examples of Victorian Gothic revival architecture, in the United Kingdom.
