Sligo is located on Ireland’s west coast on the Garavogue River. It has beautiful coastlines perfect for seaside strolls or jogs along the beachfront that stretch nearly fifty kilometers.

For those who enjoy the sand between their toes and a good book in hand, then they’ll have plenty of things to do. There are plenty of great beaches that one can spend an entire day at just sunbathing or swimming. Some of the most popular ones include Silver Strand Beach, Doughmore Beach, and Rosses Point Beach. In addition to these excellent local beaches there is also Easkey beach which is further west but is much bigger than Sligo itself. This area has become very popular in recent years with surfers due to its powerful waves that easily reach six meters in height.
