West Bromwich is a market town in the Sandwell borough of West Midlands, England. Historically, it was part of Staffordshire. West Bromwich is located to the northwest of Birmingham and is part of the Black Country region.
The town has a long history dating back to the 11th century, when it was founded as a hamlet by the Lord of the Manor Peter de Montfort. In the early 19th century, the Industrial Revolution saw the town grow rapidly as a centre for coal mining and iron working. The population of West Bromwich grew rapidly during the 19th century, reaching a peak of over 100,000 in the mid-20th century.
Today, West Bromwich is a thriving multicultural town with a diverse range of shops, businesses and amenities. The town centre has been revitalised in recent years and is home to West Bromwich Albion Football Club, one of the oldest professional football clubs in the world
