Victoria Lake by munki-boy
Victoria Lake
Victoria Lake is an ‘ornamental’ former mill pond now used for angling with access via permit. The largest of many smaller lakes as part of a water management system probably associated with the former Halliwell Bleachworks in the valley below, with various aqueducts and canals to supply other nearby industry. There are interesting remains of various features especially downstream, ruinous and often too muddy; but the lake itself is difficult to see from the nearby public footpaths.
