Rochdale Town Hall by Locksmith Rochdale
Rochdale
Rochdale is a large town in Greater Manchester, England. It lies in a wide valley at the foothills of the South Pennines on the River Roch.
Rochdale rose to prominence in the 19th century as a mill town and centre for textile manufacture during the Industrial Revolution.
Today, Rochdale is made up of urban areas, suburbs, semi-rural and rural locations, but is predominantly a residential town.
Rochdale’s Town Hall, a Grade I listed building dating from 1871, is one of the finest examples of Victorian Gothic revival architecture, in the United Kingdom. The Town Hall, along with a number of former cotton mills and seven large tower blocks, nicknamed ‘The Seven Sisters’, mark Rochdale’s skyline.
You can take a guided tour around Rochdale Town Hall which includes a look inside the Mayor’s Parlour.
Peregrine falcons have been nesting outside the clock tower at Rochdale Town Hall since 2008.
