The village and seaside resort of Portrush is situated on the north coast of County Antrim in Northern Ireland. It is built on a 1 mile long peninsula called Ramore Head and is a popular tourist destination with its sandy beaches, golf course and views of the Atlantic Ocean.
There are also a number of hotels, restaurants and bars in the town. The portrush railway station is located in the centre of the town.
Portrush has two beaches: East Strand and West Strand. East Strand is a wide, sandy beach popular for swimming, surfing and windsurfing; West Strand is a smaller, more sheltered beach. Both beaches are located on the peninsula and have stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The village is also home to the Royal Portrush Golf Club which is one of the oldest golf clubs in Ireland. The club has two championship courses: the Dunluce Course and the Valley Course. The Dunluce Course is considered one of the best links courses in the world and has hosted The Open Championship twice.
