Orrest Head
Orrest Head is in The Lake District National Park in England.
A viewpoint on a rocky outcrop, overlooking Windermere and across to the High Fells. There are a couple of benches and a nice, slate guide panel to the prominent peaks and their respective distances as-the-crow-flies.
“… quite suddenly, we emerged from the shadows of the trees and were on a bare headland, and, as though a curtain had been dramatically torn aside, beheld a truly magnificent view. … This was truth. God was in his heaven that day and I a humble worshipper.
Those few hours on Orrest Head cast a spell that changed my life.”
