Manchester Airport
Manchester Airport (MAN) is the busiest airport in the North of England, handling over 22 million passengers each year. The airport is located approximately 10 miles (16 km) south-west of Manchester city centre, in the borough of Trafford.
The airport has three terminals - Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 - which are all served by a common set of transport links. These include the Metrolink light rail system, which provides regular services to Manchester city centre and beyond; and a dedicated bus service which operates between the airport and Manchester Piccadilly train station.
Manchester Airport is well connected to the UK motorway network, being located just off junction 5 of the M56 motorway. This provides direct access to the M60 ring road around Manchester, as well as to the M6 motorway which leads to the North West of England and Scotland.
In terms of flight destinations, Manchester Airport offers direct flights to a wide range of UK and international destinations. Popular UK destinations served by the airport include London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast and Dublin.
The airport also offers a good selection of international destinations, with flights to Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East all available. Manchester Airport is therefore an important gateway for both leisure and business travellers alike.
