Knightstone Island
Knightstone Island
Knightstone Island, situated within the picturesque Marine Lake in Weston-super-Mare, boasts a captivating ensemble of historic structures. The island proudly showcases four architecturally significant Grade II Listed buildings, each representing a different era of architectural excellence.
Amongst the notable landmarks on the island, one can admire a splendid Georgian house, an elegant Victorian swimming bath, and a charming Edwardian swimming pool and theatre. These esteemed buildings not only contribute significantly to the island’s unique ambiance but also play a crucial role in shaping the distinct character of the surrounding foreshore and skyline.
In our endeavor to maintain the island’s authentic charm and seamlessly blend old and new, we sought inspiration from the inherent character and architectural legacy of these distinguished structures. By allowing the timeless allure of these historic buildings to guide our design approach, we aimed to create new constructions that harmoniously complement their surroundings while honoring the island’s rich heritage.
