Hardwick Country Park
Hardwick Country Park in County Durham is a large park with several historic structures, a visitor’s centre, river, lake and walking trails. The park is situated on the site of the former Hardwick Estate and was opened to the public in 1974.
The Hardwick Country Park Visitor Centre is located in the former stables of the estate and houses exhibits on the history of the park and its wildlife. The park also has a café and shop.
The River Wear runs through the park and there is a lake which is popular with anglers. There are also several walking trails which wind their way through the park’s woodland and grassland areas.
Hardwick Country Park is a great place to enjoy a day out in the fresh air. There is something for everyone.
