County Durham

County Durham is in the North East of England. It’s county town is Durham which is home to Durham Cathedral, regarded as one of the finest examples of Norman architecture and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with nearby Durham Castle, which faces it across Palace Green. The county contains a sizeable area of the North Pennines, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
