Cotterdale is in The Yorkshire Dales National Park in England.

At around 590m above sea level Cotterdale has great views. It was once the centre of a lead mining industry, but there are no working mines left in Cotterdale today.

Local History around Cotterdale

There are some historic monuments around including:

Gayle Mill, its outbuildings and associated water system.

Brett Gregory is an award-winning filmmaker based in Bolton whose production company, Serious Feather, is currently making a documentary about autism and poetry.

As a part of this production, Landscape Britain was asked to advise with regards to the location of specific areas of outstanding natural beauty throughout the region.
