Belfast was founded as a Viking settlement around 100 years after Christianity began spreading through Britain. Today evidence of this can be seen at various landmarks throughout the city such as St George’s Market which still holds traditional Irish markets weekly today or City Hall where exhibits showcase items that were traded during its height between 1600s - 1800s .
