Beer
Beer is a village in Devon, close to Seaton on the south coast of England. It is known for its beaches, which are popular with tourists in the summer months.
The name Beer is derived from the Old English word for ‘beach’, and it was first recorded as such in the Domesday Book of 1086. The village was originally a fishing community, now its economy remains reliant on tourism – particularly during the summer months when visitors come to enjoy the beaches.
Beer is in East Devon AONB, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
