Ashby-de-la-Zouch is a small town in the Ashby Woulds, North West Leicestershire district of England. Ashby-de-la Zouch Castle was built for William, Lord Hastings and it’s collapse after a fire in 1795 has been left as a monument to this day. Ashby Canal also passes through Ashby-de-la-Zouch, and this was joined in 1992 by Ashby Woulds Lake. Ashby Woulds Landscape Garden is a very popular parkland attraction. Ashby Woulds Heritage Trail is a set of fourteen panel signs showcasing Ashby Woulds landmarks from the Victorian era to the present day.
Ashby-de-la-Zouch’s most significant pastime, is with a wide assortment of sports clubs and social events. Ashby Woulds Golf Club has 18 holes in the rolling countryside about Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Ashby Rugby Union Football Club provides rugby union for men, women and children in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Ashby De La Zouch Town Cricket Club offers a chance to play cricket in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Ashby Bowls Club is a bowling club within Ashby Woulds, an indoor golf centre and a large sports hall for athletic meetings and social functions are all kept running by Ashby-de-la-Zouch Town Council.
