Nidderdale AONB

The Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is located in the Yorkshire Dales, on the eastern flanks of the Pennines. The area is known for its beautiful scenery, with deep dales, woodlands, reservoirs and moorland. There are also many interesting stone settlements, like Lofthouse and Kirkby Malzeard, which contrast with the wilder landscape.

The Brimham Rocks are a particularly fascinating feature of the landscape. These strange rock formations are made of gritstone and are a popular destination for tourists and climbers.

The Nidderdale AONB is a popular place for walking, cycling and horse riding. There are many different routes to explore, ranging from easy strolls to more challenging hikes. Fountains Abbey: A ruined Cistercian monastery, founded in 1132. The abbey is a grade I listed building and a World Heritage Site.

Studley Royal Water Garden: A Georgian water garden, created in the 18th century. The garden is a World Heritage Site.
