Norfolk

Norfolk is a county in East Anglia in England. It has borders with Lincolnshire and The Wash National Nature Reserve to the north-west, the North Sea to the north and east, Suffolk to the south and Cambridgeshire to the west and south-west.

Norfolk is a largely rural county and has over 90 miles of unspoilt coastline. Norfolk contains the Broads National Park and the Norfolk Coast is an AONB. The Broads is a network of rivers and lakes in the east of the county, that extend south into Suffolk.

Norfolk has countryside, forests and heathland, nature reserves, amazing birdwatching, picturesque market towns, heritage and culture, historical sites, seaside resorts and royal connections. The Queen’s residence at Sandringham, is an all year round tourist attraction.

Arthur Conan Doyle first conceived the idea for The Hound of the Baskervilles whilst holidaying in Cromer with Bertram Fletcher Robinson after hearing local folklore tales regarding the mysterious hound known as Black Shuck.

Part or all of Norfolk is in Norfolk Coast AONB, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
